The Colour of Lies - Fission#6 Anthology
This story has made it to the final editor a few times and is one of the few that show how subjective reading is. I wanted it to show that at some point, safety nets have to be removed for a child to become an adult and learn consequences. I hope this story leaves you wondering whose story, it is... 🤖

Protection from the Gods
This was a fun story that started as Furious Fiction, a monthly 55 hour competition by Australian Writer's Centre. Didn't win, so I flung it out elsewhere!

Remembering the Hungry Ghosts - Inner Worlds
This was a story that took awhile to come together.
I wanted to write about hungry ghosts; I wanted to write about the cultural disconnect between a father and a son; I wanted to write about the difficulties of not-belonging. It brewed and reshaped for almost a year before it found the right shape. Discussing with friends and acquaintances afterward--Malaysian, Singaporean, Persian, Iranian, Pakistani, Indian, Egyptian to name a few ethnicities—we quickly discover it's a common conundrum that migrants from non-Western countries face. We all love the countries we're now part of and are grateful for the choices we've had, but finding that balance between new and old, and working out what's important, is a constant consideration in our minds.
If some part of this story is you, I hope you know that you're not alone.
